About the practice

Quez Therapeutic Solutions

A bilingual behavioral health practice in Stow, Ohio — warm, practical, and built around the people who walk through the door. In person, or by teletherapy anywhere in the state.

Welcome

If you are reading this, something brought you here. It might be something you have carried quietly for years, or something that arrived last week and knocked the wind out of you. Either way, I am glad you found us.

I started this practice because good therapy should not feel cold, clinical, or complicated. It should feel like sitting down with someone who takes you seriously, understands where you come from, and helps you build something you can actually use on a Tuesday afternoon — not just insight, but a plan.

Over the years, I have sat across from people carrying anxiety that will not quiet down, depression that has flattened everything, trauma and PTSD that keep showing up long after the event that caused them, grief that does not follow a schedule, and the ordinary-but-enormous strain of a divorce, a move, a diagnosis, or a new baby. I have worked with people rebuilding their lives around a loved one’s addiction, and with couples and families who love each other but have lost the thread of how to talk to one another. None of that is unusual. Most of it is more common than people realize, and almost none of it gets easier by waiting it out alone.

I see individuals, couples, and families, in English and in Spanish, in person here in Stow or by secure teletherapy anywhere in Ohio. Some of the people I work with grew up in two languages and want a therapist who can hold both without translating feeling into a second language along the way. Others are teenagers, parents, or grandparents navigating a family system that has been under strain for a long time. Whoever you are, I try to meet you where you actually are, not where a textbook says you should be.

My approach draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma-informed care, solution-focused work, and family-systems thinking — not because I am married to any one method, but because people are not one-size-fits-all, and the work should bend to the person in front of me, not the other way around. I offer confidential, culturally sensitive counseling in English and in Spanish. Whatever brought you here, you do not have to sort it out alone.

The practice

Quez Therapeutic Solutions is a behavioral health practice serving Stow, Akron, Hudson, Cuyahoga Falls, and the surrounding Summit County area — and, through secure teletherapy, anyone in Ohio.

We work from a simple premise: mental health is a vital part of overall wellness, not something separate from the rest of a person’s life. What happens at work, at home, in a marriage, or in a family system is not background noise to the therapy. It usually is the therapy.

Care here is confidential and culturally sensitive, offered fully in English and in Spanish — not translated on the fly, but practiced in both languages by someone who thinks in both.

Most of the people who reach out are managing anxiety, depression, trauma or PTSD, grief, a major life transition, or the ripple effects of a loved one’s addiction — and many are couples or families working through conflict, communication, or the aftermath of a hard season together. There is no problem too small to bring in, and no diagnosis required to start.

How we work

Our work combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a solution-focused approach — practical, collaborative, and oriented toward what is workable now rather than only what went wrong.

Sessions are warm and direct. The goal early on is always the same: understand what brought you in, and start building a plan you can use between appointments. You should leave with something, not just talk about something.

About our founder

Joselyn Vasquez started this work in 2003, in New York City. More than twenty years later, she has sat with individuals, couples, and families through the weeks that came apart and the ones where something finally held — long enough to know that what separates those two weeks is rarely talent or luck. It is usually whether someone had a plan, and someone in their corner.

She earned her Master’s in Social Science Administration at Case Western Reserve University’s Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, concentrating on children, youth, and families. That concentration is not a line on a résumé. It is why a parent who calls about a seventh-grader reaches someone who has spent two decades inside family systems, and why the teenager in the room gets treated as a person rather than a problem to be reported on.

She also teaches — Adjunct Professor, Case Western Reserve University, the same university where she trained. And the “S” in LISW-S is the supervisor designation: she is credentialed to supervise other social workers on their way to independent licensure. Both matter for a reason that has nothing to do with credentials. A clinician who teaches and supervises has to keep articulating why the work works, out loud, to people who will ask her to prove it — and that discipline comes back into the room with every client.

The rest is unglamorous on purpose. No slogans about transformation, no promises no one can keep — just careful, culturally grounded work, in English and in Spanish, one person at a time, in a corner of Ohio where finding a good bilingual therapist should never have been this hard.

She founded Quez Therapeutic Solutions to bring that approach to Stow and the greater Akron area, and to build a practice that can hold more clinicians than one.
